Located a dozen kilometres from Orsan castle, the chapel of Saint-Pierre de Vénéjean dates back to the 9th century. Built on the remains of a Roman temple, it belonged to Madame de Sévigné's daughter, among others, before coming down to us in 1978.
This isolated chapel stands in the middle of almost 35 hectares of vines. It also includes a 15th- and 17th-century bastide house and is now owned by Philippe Verdier, who has restored it from top to bottom. It was listed as a historic monument in 1996.
